Mr. Ronald Lynn Tripp Obituary - 2021 (2025)

Mr.Ronald Lynn Tripp of Farmville, N.C.entered into eternal rest on March 17,2021 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice.

Ronald “Ronnie” Lynn Tripp, Sr. was born on September 10, 1958, to the union of Joe Henry Tripp and Mary Lillie Tripp in Pitt County. He departed this life on March 17, 2021.

Ronald received his formal education at Farmville Central High School in Farmville, North Carolina, and furthered his education at Pitt Technical Community College in Winterville, NC.

“Ronnie” accepted Christ as his Savior at Mt. Moriah at an early age and sang in the Youth Choir.

“Ronnie” was united in holy matrimony with Margie Melton Tripp on September 21, 1997. Their union was blessed with two children.

“Ronnie” enlisted into the United States Army on September 13, 1977, and was honorably discharged on September 12, 1980, with the rank of SP-4.

“Ronnie” was mechanically inclined and could work on anything. He was employed with Allen & Jones, Ryder, Joyce Foods and Farmville Health Care as a truck driver, delivery man and maintenance technician until November 2020 when his health declined.

When he wasn’t working on something, he enjoyed fishing and being the “Life of the Party.” He was always smiling. He loved people – especially the youth – and imparted his wisdom through coaching sports. A humble man, he usually “didn’t charge enough” when his services were needed. Fixing things was his passion and his gift.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Joe Henry and Mary Lillie Joyner Tripp; one sister, Linda Gail Tripp; and one brother, Jerome Swinson.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Marjorie Tripp; his children: Rondericka Tripp of Greenville, NC, Ylonda Gail Tripp and Ronald Lynn Tripp, Jr., both of Farmville, NC; his grandchildren, Israel Tripp, Isaiah Tripp, Judah Tripp, NoKiyah Tripp, Queen Howard and NaMari Tripp; his siblings JoAnn Tripp Ward (Melvin) and Carol Tripp-Williams, all of Greenville, NC, and Mary Tripp-Compton of Goldsboro, NC; an active father figure to his nieces, Shieka Tripp and Joe-Tsha Tripp after the passing of niece Tara Tripp; honorary brothers: David Tillary, Reggie Knight, Steve Joyner, Katrell Joyner, Troy Joyner and the late Danny Norris; his aunt Sarah Watson of Richmond, Virginia; his uncles IssacJoyner of Farmville and David Tripp of Manhattan, N.Y.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
