This book is really mysterious, because things happen when you never even expected them to go that way. I really liked the characters of this book.

Urban Outlaws has been a series I have really enjoyed from the very first book. When I was offered a copy of Lockdown to review my only answer was yes please. I really like the new makeover this series has got, the covers look edgy but are also eye catching.

Lockdown follows the events of the previous book, Blackout, with the team determined to find the location of Hector, and get the virus back. However, thier plans can go nowhere, with no money and no ID, the Urban Outlaws have no way of getting to USA, until a 'good samaritan' The Shepherd says he will give them a way to USA for a price.

Going into this series you know there is going to be missions, RAKing, and some serious hi tech gadgets, and Lockdown was no exception (I really need the Think Desk they have). We also get to meet a few new faces who I hope we see in another book. Serene is Noble's sister, and she gives the Urban Outlaws a home to stay in during thier stay in USA. Her house is full of gadgets and tech that isn't even out to the public. Serene also has hacker friends, with Lux and Drake playing a big role in the Urban Outlaws latest mission.

Lockdown has many twists and turns, and when you think it is all figured out, the plan changes and has you rethinking everything you thought you knew. The Urban Outlaws have to not only outsmart Hector, but also stay alive, and avoid being caught. They put so much on the line and take so many risks that several times through Lockdown I thought it was all over for the team. However, when all things come together, and they have a real, planned, strategic attack, I love the resourcefulness and ingenuity of this group.

Urban Outlaws is a series that keeps on giving, and keeps on getting better. Not only with the character development, but with the missions and the risks they take.

Final Verdict
Lockdown was exactly what I expected from the author, and from the Urban Outlaws. They surprise me time and time again with thier quick thinking and pure luck of getting out of sticky situations. I can't wait to see where thier next adventure takes them.

Followers of this blog will know how much I love this series, combining these books with audios was a great idea, and it didn't take me long to make a start on Lockdown. The Urban Outlaws have managed to track down Hector, the only problem is he is in USA, and the outlaws have no way of getting to him, until The Samaritan comes along and offers to send them over, if they help him out whilst there.

Lockdown was my favourite of the series when it was released, we get to see the Urban Outlaws out of thier comfort zone, and in a different country. They have to rely on friends to help them out for small missions, but also get shown how the USA does RAKing. The main mission, to track down Hector, isn't an easy one, and it needs the help of high tech gadgets, friends, sneaky tricks, and a stolen borrowed boat.

Lockdown is just as action packed as the previous books and I really enjoyed getting to listen to this one. I loved everything about this book, the plot, the characters (old and new), and the pace of the story itself. I found myself laughing at silly things (inflatable extras) and smiling when the Outlaws got one over on Hector.

The Narration
Lockdown is the same narrator as the previous books, but he honestly sounds like a different person. I LOVED this narration so much more than the others, and I also enjoyed the different accents. I have it on good authority that a different studio was used to record this book, I vote for that studio to be used again for the rest of the series.

Final Verdict
Everything about the Lockdown audiobook was perfect. The story and the narration worked amazingly well together and I often found myself putting it on for another half hour..when I really should have been sleeping.

This book Urban Outlaws Lockdown is the third book in the series written by Peter Jay Black. It's about how these kids who named themselves the Urban Outlaws are trying to stop Hector from hacking into the government with this high tech virus he has. In the book Jack, Charlie, Slink, Wren, and Obi (the Urban Outlaws) stop Hector from hacking into every government, steal all their secrets, and sell it to the highest bidder.
In my opinion, this is an amazing book with a lot of nail-biting events. In the book, the suspense is very well and written to make sure you can't stop reading the book or the series. For example, there are 5 books in the series and this is the third book. So, the author Peter Jay Black ends off the book with a cliff hanger. He has the Urban Outlaws to destroy the virus, but then he has the bookend off by adding another problem that could cause a lot of chaos. A weakness is that the author Peter Jay Black doesn't use a lot of show don't tell or figurative language. I've read 3 out of the 5 books in the series and I couldn't even find like 3 pieces of figurative language from the books. For example, he could've used figurative language when he describes Jack jumping off of the roof even though he is afraid of heights. But, overall I think it's a terrific book filled with a bunch of suspense and action.

The book’s plot was very good. The characters were just as funny and enjoyable before. The book got a little slow at times, but it was also full of action packed moments. The ending was so amazing. I’m also glad that this book was more centered around Slink because we don’t know much about him. The book overall was very good and I can’t wait to read the next one.

"Urban Outlaws" by Peter Jay Black is a very heart pounding, action filled, very hooking book. This book is great, because it includes my favorite story of teenage underdogs performing heists and secret missions with close calls at every corner. "Suddenly a loop of rope dropped over his shoulders and pulled tight, pinning his arms against his body and yanking him backward...the man's had slammed against the side of the trailer and he slumped...Glasses and mugs went flying in all directions, smashing against the walls"(Black 135-136). This is one of the action filled events where I thought that surely one of them would be captured or injured. I also like the mission that the outlaws had, which was to hunt down Hector, a hacker. Although their mission of hunting a hacker is cliché, it makes the book more interesting. "Every new channel was filled with stories about hacker attacking New York, and it was getting worse-spreading out the city...Truth was, it was all one kid: Quentin Del Sarto-aka Hector- and his new hacking tool, causing disruption wherever he went" ( Black 101). I felt engaged in the book. Every page I turned kept me wanting more action. The characters statements and how they act like regular teenagers even though their criminals is entertaining and amusing. "I just want to say, that was freakin' awesome...I recorded it on my shoulder cam...Might put it on YouTube later"(Black 22). This was so funny, because it was also modern. I would advise anybody who likes heart pounding missions to read this book, because its nothing but dangerous mission over close calls.

This is the third book in the Urban Outlaws series. Jack, Charlie, Slink, Obi, and Wren are tasked with righting the wrongs done by society. They have plenty of gadgets and intelligence to outsmart the enemy. They thought they had outsmarted a lethal computer virus from being unleashed, but one of their allies has betrayed them. If Hector releases the virus, then the world as they know it will be doomed. They must team up with a shadowy figure called “The Shepherd” to find and defeat Hector before it is too late. I would recommend this for any collection owning the others in the series and for fans of mystery and suspense titles.

The Urban Outlaws are back, and this third book takes them all the way from London to New York (with a side trip to Los Angeles) in pursuit of Hector and the computer virus. He is now using it to take down hackers all over, including threatening their friend Noble. This book is full of twists, double-twists, even more super spy inventions and Mission: Impossible type situations. I strongly suggest reading the series in order. Recommended for grades 4 & up.

I think it is really good from all the high technology and the cool gadgets, also the adventure that the Outlaws had a very good idea on the 3d printed mask they made, but then Hector found out. Jack was tied to the chair but said the word origami to signal Charlie to shut down all power, when Jack got out, Obi was left behind so Jack had to rescue him, from that sacrifice, Jack got shot in the leg. I want to read the 4th book, Counterstrike.

Another fast paced action adventure with the Urban Outlaws. The only thing I like to see is a little more success in their endeavours as they always seem to mess up and need help to fix it Charlie is still my favourite character with her gadget making I can do anything attitude. Roll on to number 4
